Let's Crochet Together!
Jul 23rd 2025
After many requests for a crochet version of retreat, we could not be more excited to be bringing crochet guru Toni Lipsey (and her mother!) to town this September! While this retreat was previously sold out, we've managed to come up with 3 EXTRA TICKETS - which means this is your chance to come learn Tunisian Crochet while having a once-in-a-lifetime experience with us in Southern Oregon!
Full Retreat tickets include:
• 3 nights stay in an individual room at Winchester Inn (September 7-10th)
• All meals from dinner Sunday night through Breakfast Wednesday morning, with wine/beverage tickets at lunch and dinner
• 2 classes plus social events with Toni Lipsey
• Afternoon shuttle to a popular local winery Irvine & Roberts and wine tasting
• A ticket to Into the Woods in the Elizabethan Outdoor Theater at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival
• A fantastic luxury swag bag
• Private shopping event at The Websters
Are you local? We've got a special treat for you! In addition to our retreat, Toni Lipsey will be teaching a beginner-level introduction to Tunisian crochet class down at the shop on September 9th! Resting at the intersection of knitting and crochet, Tunisian crochet brings the best of these crafts into a new dimension. Discover the excitement of this addictive technique and walk out of class with your first completed project - the Bliss Braided Ear Warmer (featured above), an exclusive pattern from Toni's book, The Tunisian Crochet Handbook. There are only a handful of spots left in this class, so don't hesitate to sign up.
You might have noticed a growing interest in crochet amongst the fiber community lately, and we hear you asking for more crochet classes! In response to all the requests of "Now that I crochet, how do I make those cute creatures?!", guest teacher Paula Hyatt will be teaching an Intro to Amigurumi class down at the shop on August 2nd.
In this class you will learn the basic principles, tips, and tricks that will help make your future amigurumi projects successful. Using a pattern designed specifically for this class, we will demystify the magic ring, practice color changes, learn the benefits of an invisible decrease, discuss yarn under versus yarn over, and much more. This class is perfect for those starting amigurumi for the first time and for those who have made projects and want to learn how to address gaps, holes and other challenges that can present themselves when crocheting these fun little friends.
